In my never ending quest for online riches, it's time I venture into FOREX. With more than $3 trillion exchanges daily - who else don't want a piece of the pie? I then started to study a lil bit of how to trade FOREX online.
After a few hours of research and study, I opened a demo account to get my feet wet before investing real money in it. I've read that a lot of inexperienced newbies got slaughtered in the FOREX market so I better be careful.

Today I will share my experience with you all after my involvement with the Lawn Chair Millionaire program for 5 days. Let's start from the very beginning as I explain how the program works and whether it will really make you any money.
The first thing you will see when you enter the site is an opt-in page. The page looks something like the one below. Note that you will likely see different opt-in pages as they rotate between different designs. However they serve the same purpose, which is to show you the money pool - if you notice the bottom part of the page.
Also notice the countdown timer which is 3 hours. If you submit your name and email, you will be placed in a temporary slot where you are eligible for the money pool. What the money pool does is that it will be broken into 3 parts that will be paid to you across 3 months. However you need to understand that the total pool for that particular day is calculated based on how many people are joining the Lawn Chair Millionaire program on that very day. The more people join, the larger the pool is. And the total money pool will be split evenly to all members who "joined".
Remember I said temporary position earlier? Yup.. You can't get your hands on the money yet. Because you are currently locked in a temp position. To be eligible to collect the money, you need to become a paid member. There is a one time account setup fee payment and a recurring membership fee every month.
A lot of people never bothered to become a paid member because it sounds like a scam. Well, 3 months ago I thought it was a scam too but I regretted only after discovering how the top member is now making consistently $54,930 residue income every month! That does not include other bonuses that she's (yeah its a lady) earning that's around 10k monthly. And the number is increasing every single month without fail.
The reason why people think its a scam is because the interface looks too simple. And it does not mention clearly what product you will get in return. Also the monthly fee charges is a turn-off. 3 months ago I read a couple of reviews about this program and people everywhere are negative about it. 3 months later I joined under the top member to see whether this program can be trusted.

The Vault tab is where some of the more powerful tools are located where you will be able to make more money online. I recently purchased a SmartCash System in the vault where you can easily exploit one of the loopholes in football betting games in major online betting programs! Of course this is only meant for people living outside US.
The Business tab is where you can find and use some of the readily available services to promote your website. Website you say? Well, you will be given a website upon signing up and that particular website is the only thing that you need to promote.
The Admin tab allows you to track your commission, view your prospects, members, payments and other stuff.
Let's take a glimpse of how much money I had made in 5 days.

If you guys still remember my previous post regarding Google Wealth Maker and wondering whether it is worth your 77USD/mo. After trying the program for a full week; here is my conclusion - The program does not work as promised. I have seen 0 results. You read me right - "zero". Here are the reasons:
The Google Wealth Maker is using Black Hat strategy to exploit the loopholes of Twitter to send mass message to followers of your Twitter account. In case those of you who do not know how it works. You set up a twitter account about a particular keyword which is relevant to the product which you want to promote. It can be an affiliate website or your own website. The GWM will search and try to follow/ add users to your twitter account based on the relevant keywords in their names.
Next, through the GWM interface, you set up a Google news feed. You input the relevant keywords which GWM will find in the content of the latest Google news. Then what it will do next is send the snippet news feed to all your twitter followers with your URL at the end. This sounds like a superb idea but there is one major flaw - Since GWM is driven by algorithms/ keywords; it cannot differentiate between relevant news and something which is of complete different topic. As long as the keyword you entered is somewhere inside the content, GWM will think that the news is relevant. In reality, you may be sending junk to your followers.
What happens, is your twitter follower is updated with a news like this:- "hacker stole a fortune from online... http://tinyurl.xxxxx". When the user wanted to read more about the news, instead of reading the complete news, he was directed to a completely non-related website. Worse is when he was presented with a website with long sales letter asking him to buy something. Okay, my example may not sound right but I believe you get the idea. I guess after receiving 100+ junk messages from the GWM, the followers will eventually block you.
All my Twitter accounts are suspended today when I tried to log in and check on the progress. Then I went and read the possible reasons why I was suspended and this is what I found out.
Almost every taboos are what GWM is doing! Holy crap! We all know that Black Hat won't last you long. Don't ever spend a dime on it!

However, to pay 77 bucks every month for something which does not completely deliver, I'll pass. The truth is, everyone's a sucker before trying the program for themselves. I have requested for my refund already. Let's see how long it will take for them to process.

It has been almost one month since my case study started. My aim is to create a new website from scratch to make money online. I had made a couple of unforeseen changes two weeks after the project that impacted slightly on the outcome. I moved to a paid hosting for better SEO so that wasted me 2 weeks of work. Also I spent 2 days tweaking the new site to make it presentable. Another week spent moving and uploading the contents. And finally, I implement Google Adsense to the site after my site has enough contents. I also followed the steps in Article Underground to massively link to my site from their many PR4 sites.
The result was not what I was hoping for. My overall Adsense income is a big disappointment as shown in the screen shot below. Did the strategy not working out as planned? I had some of the most expensive keywords around..
However, something surprised me today when I checked my Adsense report for yesterday. The traffic started to come in and I get $13+ with just 10 clicks! That's not too shabby for a 3 weeks old site.
I'll keep my fingers crossed for now. Hopefully I get more traffic coming and higher conversion rates for the next 1 month. At this point, I am completely ignoring that site and letting it run on its own. I have a bigger fish to fry and it will be one of my remaining secret weapons.
If you want to make it big on the internet, by just building a website or blog with nice contents is just not enough. Traffic plays the most important part of your blog. Even if you have huge traffic coming to your site doesn't necessary make you successful. Well, even if you are successful, how are you able to bring it to the next level? By understanding your visitors.
I'm sure most webmasters out there understands this well better than I do. If you get to know your visitors and understand what they want and provide them with what they are looking for, they will definitely come back to your site. Not only do they come back, in most cases, they may bring their friends along.
So, how are you able to understand your visitors without interacting with them? Yes you may include a little poll or survey and ask your visitors to participate. But 70% of the time they don't. Let's look at the alternative method. There are plenty of free tools and software out there which you can install on your website to track visitor activities without them feeling intrusive. For example, SiteMeter, SiteCounter, Feedjit, just to name a few. These little graphical add-ons are not intrusive and silently provide very useful statistics for you. You get to know where your visitors come from, what keywords they searched for before they found you, what topics interest them, how long do they spend on your site and so on.
Over the years, these tools have become more and more sophisticated. They are able to track IP addresses, ISPs and even able to integrate with Google Earth to show location of where they come from - precisely to the street level. Here's an example I captured with the tool to show where my visitor came from.
With this information at hand, you are able to make changes to your site or add contents that may appeal to your visitors. If your visitor lives nearby your place, heck you could even pay them a nice visit. Though not necessary, this serves as an invaluable information for every webmasters.
Based on the information gathered over the past couple of months, I've had a huge amount of traffic coming into my site looking for information regarding a specific topic. For that reason I have decided to create a separate website to target these visitors. Since the search engine has indexed your page for that particular niche, how are you able to send them to your new site? The answer is just to create a re-direct page to inform your visitors. Slowly, the search engines will pick up the trend and start sending visitors to your new site.
So I've realized that to mix everything in one website is a big "No-No" if you wanted to improve your site credibility. The search engine will rank you better if you concentrate in one specific subject. I have been mixing making money and Logitech review in DannyTechy for quite some time now.

I guess I have not updated for quite some time now. It's time for another round of case study update! My aim is to create a money making blog from scratch and see whether it can really make enough money to cover one's daily expenses. Or to simply make a living off from the internet for an average Joe.
There has been some major decision changes over the past one week. I've decided to scrap the whole idea about putting everything in a free blogspot account to a paid hosting plan. I signed up with a very reliable web hosting company with unlimited bandwidth, space and domain for a mere $71 annually. It's a very small investment in order to achieve a more significant result.
Right after I obtained my domain and site I quickly posted something on the first page. Following the instructions on Article Underground, I announced my site in 3 of their 33 announcement blogs and my website was immediately indexed by Google within 4 hours! I've never experience indexing so fast before. Normally it takes at least a week for a very good SEO-optimized website to be indexed. My DannyTechy blog took close to 6 months to be indexed by search engines.
Soon after that I activated WordPress on my account and implemented a SEO-optimized theme on it. During the past week I have been tweaking and importing posts from my previous blog. I started to insert affiliate banners I signed up with Commission Junction. At this point I'm still tweaking my site and wait for my total post to hit 50 before I start sending in free paid Google traffic I got from signing up with the web hosting company. It is time for another round of update for my case study: Make money from blog. I have been constantly adding in new articles and pages to my new blog. I now have over 21 new postings in the blog itself. It won't be long before it hit 50 then I will start implementing Google Adsense. I estimate another week before I hit the 50 post target.
I have recently signed up a couple of advertiser programs for my case study. Although most of my applications are rejected; some decent sponsors still accepted me as their affiliate partner. Perhaps it is because of my current location. Some of the advertisers only accept affiliate partners from certain specific locations. I'm very certain that more sponsors will start pouring in after my blog hit 50 unique posts.

This is an update to my last post: "Can humans live forever?". I have received my magnets from the online magnet store this Thursday. And my, those neodymium magnets are way too strong that one of the surface of the magnets just cracked open after my friend played with them (He could not control the pulling force of the magnets that collides together). Luckily it's just one magnet and I can still salvage it.
Getting real excited, I went to a convenient store and bought myself few materials for the project of making my own immortality rings. What you will need:
1 x elastic tape
1 x sewing needle
1 x sewing thread
1 x compass
4 x strong disc magnets
some torn clothes
After that, by following the diagram below on how we should place the magnets:
Note that one your left finger, the South should be facing upwards while on the right finger, North should be facing upwards. How do you identify the polarity of the magnets? Easy, by following the diagram below:
Most compass have red needle for North and white for South. If you have a irregular compass needle color, the colored needle would be the North. Always remember that the North needle will always point to the South pole of a magnet.
Now that we have the required materials, lets begin by cutting the elastic tape to the size of your small finger. After that, put both ends together so that they meet and sew them up. After you are done, flip it over so it look something like this:
Now its time to use the compass and determine the polarity of the magnets. Remember, South up for the left side and North up for the right side. You can mark the North and South pole of the magnets with a marker pen for easy identification. Before we begin the next step, use some thin transparent tape to wrap around the magnets so they are more resistant to cracks.
The next step will require you to use a torn cloth of any kind and wrap it around the magnet. Then sew the sides to fully seal the magnet inside the cloth. Let's just call this finished product the sandwich. After you are done, sew the sandwich to the elastic finger glove that we made earlier (making sure the polarity is correct). The end product will look something like this:
Repeat the same steps for the other side. This will be the most challenging part of the whole process because both the magnets will constantly give you headache as they come close to each other! Use a marker pen to label the finished product so you don't need to carry a compass every time you want to wear the ring.
Hang in there! We're almost finished! Now all you need to do is to repeat the same steps for the the other side. Only this time, North will be facing upwards. Label the ring after you have completed.
Congratulations! You have made yourself a pair of immortality rings that will grant you eternal life!(?) I'll be using them every night during sleep to see whether they actually give me 30 days of healing for a night of sleep as claimed by the author Alex Chiu. Actually, according to Alex Chiu, his other invention (Eternal Life foot braces) are more powerful and yield better results compared to the rings. Well if the rings did work for me, I will build myself the eternal life foot braces!

Here's a quick update on the real life case study that I'm currently doing. My aim is to create a blog from scratch to make money online; applying what I have learned during the past one year.
According to the report based on the most popular and expensive keywords from the excel file I obtained from Article Underground, I have decided to go for the "Insurance niche". Of course there are many more expensive keywords in the list that I did not sort out.
I'm not really sure on what web template to use so I've used back the same template from DannyTechy. Of course I removed most of the non-related advertisements. Google ads are removed as well because I need more pages and contents. Reason being that Google will determine the quality of my site and the quality of the ads (high CPC) that the site will be getting the first time the ads are implemented. So if you start off your site with crappy contents, your site will be stuck with 3rd rate ads. Once Google made their decision, it's unlikely that they will change their mind down the road.
Later I tried to insert important keywords into the description as these are what people are searching for and advertisers are competing against each other heavily. The result would be something like this:

Alright! It is time for some real case studies. I will apply what I have learned so far and try to make money from a new blog. I won't use my current DannyTechy blog as a case study platform because it has been around for quite some time. I will start with a brand new blog registered with Google. This will only be a simple case study that I will be doing during my free time since I'm still stuck in a day job. I will be using all the readily available analyzing tools from Article Underground for this case study.

Let's face it, how easy do you think it is to make money from Adsense nowadays? With Google's ever changing policy and recent crack down on websites with duplicated contents; those who were able to make a living from adsense in the past are now struggling to even make 100 a month.
Do not simply trust anyone who's selling those quick-buck Adsense ready websites. Especially those content-ready article websites. They simply would not work as effectively as it used to be. Because they are selling the same articles (contents) over and over again. Websites with duplicated contents will score low for Google adsense. As a result, you gain less CPC from the adsense adverts. Sure they are easy to set up but don't expect any good results from them.
If you want to make money from Google, you will need to think like Google and play their game. Don't ever think of using short cuts. Black hat methods work only for a period of time before they are discovered and patched; just like how hackers exploit program bugs to their advantage. Instead of investing your money and time on something that will not last forever, why not try learning it the right way (White hat way)? You will be rewarded handsomely if you please Google.
There are a couple of important things that you need to know about Google if you want to make more money with Adsense. I will not go in detail all of them but the one thing that matters most is unique keyword targeted contents. Nothing pleases Google more than this. However, do not take my words for granted as I also learned this from experience.
If you want to make a website to monetize from Google Adsense, you need unique contents. I mean loads and loads of pages with unique keyword targeted contents; contents that are not copied from anywhere. But how are you going to find time to write unique content pages after pages? One way around this is to outsource your content writing to ghost writers. But that poses another problem; their services are expensive and hard to come by. The next alternative? Find someone who employs these ghost writers and sell you their work!
Now everybody agrees that content is KING. However this is only half true. UNIQUE content is KING. If you need unique contents for your website. Whether it is an article website or an affiliate website, look no further. Article Underground could be your solution. These are some of my recommended programs that I joined in the past to make money online. Some of them are not performing so well, however a little extra help is never a bad thing. My advise for beginners is to try as many programs as possible to learn from the experience. Don't ever cherry pick programs because you won't be able to learn anything. I'll be updating this section from time to time if I find a good program.
★Google Adsense:
Adsense is a great way to monetize your site. You just need to sign up for Adsense and implement the code in your html and it will automatically crawl the content of your pages and delivers ads (you can choose both text or image ads) that are relevant to your audience and your site content — ads so well-matched, in fact, that your readers will actually find them useful. Google Adsense matches advertisements to your site's content, and you earn money whenever your visitors click on them. One drawback of Google Adsense is its high payout threshold. You will need to hit the $100 mark before Google pays you.
★Bidvertiser:
Bidvertiser, a similar ads network that competes with Google Adsense. Its main advantage over Adsense is its low $10 payout. You only need to make $10 in order to be paid. Bidvertiser works similarly with Adsense, just sign up and implement the codes in your website. However, Bidvertiser offers two types of programs; one for publishers and another one for advertisers.
★WidgetBucks:
WidgetBucks is an advertising network that features a widget that displays shopping ads. When a reader clicks on the widget and visits the advertiser, you make money (works the same way as Adsense and Bidvertiser).
WidgetBucks integrates with Blogger, TypePad, WordPress, Movable Type, and other large blogging platforms to make it extremely easy to install. The ads can be pulled with a MerchSense crawl of your page to finds relevant products to include in the widget. Alternatively, you can choose the categories and products yourself.
★Kontera ContentLink:
Kontera ContentLink allows you to make money from advertising without giving up any current advertising spots. Their technology reads your post and turns certain words into an ad. The highlighted words are double underline and an ad pops up when you hover over it.
★TTZ Media Network:
TTZ Media provides product based ads that are trigger by keywords. The ads show products that are based on the keywords entered and a list of online stores where the products can be purchased. A reader clicking on the product will be taken to the store offering the product for sale. Money is generated with a CPC model. A reader need only click on the banner and visit the advertiser in order for the site to make money. The reader does not have to purchase the product from the advertiser. CPC rates are based on product categories and number of clicks the affiliate can generate.
★ShoppingAds:
What ShoppingAds does is put all their publishers into one big “collective” to go after the higher revenue share. Publishers can leverage ShoppingAds’ creative delivery of eBay’s auctions and ShoppingAds’ ability to achieve the higher performance incentive tiers with the aggregate volume of traffic to make more money than they could with their own eBay affiliate relationship. Right now, affiliates will get 100% of any money they make from the system. As the collective moves up the eBay revenue share tiers, ShoppingAds will start to take a cut of revenues. The goal is for you to make more with ShoppingAds than directly with eBay’s affiliate program, which will be the case as the network increases its volume.
★DealDotCom:
DealDotCom offers a two-tier affiliate program. When you refer others to DealDotCom and they get a free account, they are marked in the system as having been referred by you. Anything that they buy will nets you a 35% commission. It's quite popular nowadays. People are never content with whatever that they are making (Even you and I). Believe me if you will, the keywords "make money" or anything related to "making more money" are topping the charts for one of the most searched keywords in any search engines.
I have been studying these online money making methods for almost a year now and guess what? If I really want to make a living off from the internet, I may need to slowly abandon my current nonsensical blog postings and start focusing in implementing the secrets of online money making. Well, actually there are no such things as the so called secrets in making money online.
I've spent quite some fortune and time buying e-books and guides but in the end, they all don't work so well as claimed. The authors all claimed that their methods are fool-proof; some even claims that even their grandma's can do it. Well if that is the case I don't think why we still have poverty and people who bought the e-books are still struggling to make ends meet.
The so-called secret methods contained in their e-books are actually the same old methods that has existed for more than 20 years. People are just creative enough to re-phrase the words so that it sounds different. By saying that, it does not mean that ALL the authors out there are plagiarizing old work. There are some genuine ideas on how to make money online out there. However you will need to be smart enough to tell the difference between genuine methods and re-published methods.
In my 1 year attempt at making money online, I have made close to 200 USD only. For some, it may seem to be a laughing figure. For me, I see huge potential if I start to step out of my comfort zone and make some huge changes. I have too many plans in mind but did not execute them (due to laziness and work life balance). I still have a lot to learn from those who are successful in this field.
I might be changing my blog address soon if needed. Or even wipe out the whole DannyTechy blog and start from scratch. Doing some Logitech reviews out of passion aren't working too good for me as far as I can tell (Unless Logitech would be so kind enough to send me sample products for review purposes). Come to think of it, DannyTechy sounds like some tech geek who knows nothing but matrix codes.

For Thailand it is quoted at RM3.90/liter, however are they aware that in Thailand, new cars are cheaper than Malaysia by RM10,000? They pay only one life time for their driving license? No renewal fee after that? Also that goes for road tax as well? And do TheStar also aware that you can drive all the way from Hadtyai to Bangkok on a six lane highway without paying any Tolls ??!!
Whereas here in Malaysia you have to pay yearly renewal for road tax , driving license and TOLLS, TOLLS, TOLLS!!!
For Singapore how can you quote RM 5.20 ? Please quote in Singapore Dollars because they are earning in Sing Dollars. You might as well say Europeans are paying RM10/liter. RM5.20/liter = Sing $ 2.20/liter, still cheaper than Malaysia in view of fact that Singapore is not a crude oil exporter. Are you saying that you fill up petrol in Singapore by paying Ringgit?
In economy, dollar to dollar must be compared as apple to apple. Not comparing like durian in M'sia is much cheaper than durian in Japan!! Of course-"lah", Japan is not durian producer!!! Comparing Malaysian durian with Thailand durian make more sense!!
For Indonesia we might say is cheaper there at RM2.07/liter but compare that to their level of income!
Now, let us compare the price with OIL PRODUCING countries:
UAE – RM1.19/litre
Eygpt – RM1.03/litre
Bahrain – RM0.87/litre
Qatar – RM0.68/litre

RM 2.70!!! Individual perspective:
As of last month a Toyota Vios would 'cause a damage' of about RM 89,000. In the international market, a Toyota Vios is about USD 19,000
USD 19,000 = RM 62,700 (using the indicative rates of USD 1 = RM 3.30)
That makes Malaysian Vios owners pay an extra RM 26,300.
This RM 26,300 should be cost of operations, profit and tax because the transportation costs have been factored in to the USD 19,000.
RM 26,300/ RM625 petrol rebate per year translates to a Vios being used for 42.08 years.
I do understand that the RM 625 is a rebate given by the government, but it also means that one has to use the Vios for 42.08 years just to make back the amount paid in taxes for the usage of a foreign car. Would anyone use any kind of car for that long?
Now with these numbers in front of us, does the subsidy sound like a subsidy or does it sound like a penalty? This just seems to be a heavy increment in our daily cost of living as we are not only charged with high car taxes but also with a drastic increase in fuel price.
With all the numbers listed out, I urge all Malaysians to join me in analyzing the situation further.
Car taxation is government profit, fuel sales is Petronas' (GLC) profit which also translates into government profit. The government may ridicule us Malaysians by saying look at the world market and fuel price world wide. Please, we are
Malaysians, we fought of the British, had a international port in the early centuries (Malacca), home to a racially mixed nation and WE ARE NOT STUPID!!!
We know the international rates are above the USD 130/barrel. We understand the fact that the fuel prices are increasing worldwide and we also know that major scientist are still contradicting on why this phenomenon is happening. Some blame Bush and his plunders around the world and some blame climate change and there are others which say petroleum 'wells' are getting scarce.
Again we go back to numbers to be more straight forward
1 barrel = 159 liters x RM2.70/liter = RM 429 or USD 134
On 1 hand, we are paying the full cost of 1 barrel of crude oil with RM2.70 per liter but on the other hand the crude oil only produces 46% of fuel.
Msia sells crude oil per barrel at USD130 buys back Fuel per barrel at USD134. And not forgetting, every barrel of fuel is produced with 2 barrels of crude oil.
1 barrel crude oil = produce 46% fuel (or half of crude oil), therefore;
2 barrel crude oil = approximately 1 barrel fuel
In other words, each time we sell 2 barrels of crude oil, equivalently we will buy back 1 barrel of fuel.
Financially,
Malaysia sell 2 barrel crude oil @ USD 130/barrel = USD 260 = RM 858
then, Malaysia will buy back fuel @ USD 134/barrel = RM 442/barrel
Thus, Malaysia earn net extra USD 126 = RM 416 for each 2 barrel of crude sold/exported vs imported 1 barrel of fuel
(USD 260-134 = USD 126 = RM416)
So where this extra USD 126/barrel income is channeled to by Malaysian Govt???
Another analysis:
1 barrel crude oil = 159 liters.
46-47% of a barrel of crude oil = fuel that we use in our vehicles.
46% of 159 = 73.14 liters.
@ RM 2.70/liter x 73.14 liter = RM197.48 of fuel per barrel of crude oil. This is only 46% of the barrel, mind you. Using RM 3.30 = USD 1, we get that a barrel of crude oil produces USD 59.84 worth of petrol fuel (46% of 1barrel).
USD 59.84 of USD 130/barrel turns out to be 46% of a barrel as well.
Another 54% = bitumen, kerosene, and natural gases and so many more.
And this makes a balance of USD 70.16 that has not been accounted for.
So this is where I got curious. Where is the subsidy if we are paying 46% of the price of a barrel of crude oil when the production of petrol/barrel of crude oil is still only 46%?
In actual fact, we still pay for this as they are charged in the forms of fuel surcharge by airlines and road taxes for the building of road (because they use the tar/bitumen) and many more excuse charging us but let us just leave all that
out of our calculations.
As far as I know, only the politicians who live in Putrajaya and come for their Parliament meetings in Kuala Lumpur (approximately 60+ km) are the ones to gain as they claim their fuel and toll charges from the money of the RAKYAT's TAX.
It is so disappointing to see this happen time and time again to the Malaysian public, where they are deceived by the propaganda held by the politicians and the controls they have over the press.
Which stupid idiot economist equates rebates for rich or poor with the cc of the vehicles? An average office clerk may own a second hand 1300cc proton Iswara costing $7,000 (rebate = $625) while the Datuk's children can own a fleet of 10 new cars of BMW, Audi and Volvo all less than 2000cc costing $2 millions and get a total rebate of $625 x 10 = $6,250! Wow what kind of economists we are keeping in Malaysia...wonder which phD certificate that they bought from...
Misleading concept of Subsidy:
The word "subsidy" has been brandished by the BN government as if it has so generously helped the rakyat and in doing so incurred losses. This simple example will help to explain the fallacy:
Example:
Ahmad is a fisherman. He sells a fish to you at $10 which is below the market value of $15. Let's assume that he caught the fish from the abundance of the sea at little or no cost. Ahmad claims that since the market value of the fish is $15 and he sold you the fish for $10, he had subsidized you $5 and therefore made a loss of $5.
Question : Did Ahmad actually make a profit of $10 or loss of $5 which he claimed is the subsidy?
Answer:
Ahmad makes a profit of $10 which is the difference of the selling price ($10) minus the cost price ($0 since the fish was caught from the abundance of the sea). There is no subsidy as claimed by Ahmad.
The BN government claims that it is a subsidy because the oil is kept and treated as somebody else's property (you know who). By right, the oil belongs to all citizens of the country and the government is a trustee for the citizens. So as in the above simple example, the BN government cannot claim that it has subsidized the citizen!
One day while browsing the internet for funny websites, I come across a very unique website where the author (Alex Chiu) claims to have invented some special devices to allow humans to live forever. How many of you out there understand your company policy? Not just some simple "duh.. I know I can't use my company computer to surf porn, everything I use is company property...". Do you actually know that your company has so many policies that were not revealed nor explained to you after you signed the offer letter?
Just recently, one incident almost cost me my job. I was let off with a serious warning letter (upon my request as a sign acknowledging my mistake). Now that I think about it, was it really necessary to sign the paper if it wasn't my fault? Oh well maybe it is because they have proof of the policy. On the paper, it stated that I have breached one of the company's policies under Human Resource: Conflict of Interest. To tell you the truth, that is the first time after working more than 2 years that I've actually seen the REAL context of this policy! Not to mention that it's just a couple of generic confusing lines. And it's under clause 4.xx. God knows how many more are there..
From my standpoint, the company failed at delivering its own policy to its employees properly. Yeah they give you some simple induction when you first joined. Brief you on the company history, career growth, show you around, meet some nice people. But something this important was never appropriately imparted to new employees.
If you think policies are not important, then you are very wrong! One poor guy from the other department was dismissed immediately the second day after he "unknowingly" posted some of his 20 cents worth of thought in a discussion forums. The reason? I bet it's one of those Conflict of Interest policy thingy. That could've happened to anyone! It doesn't just happen by chance! Who is to be blamed for the lack of proper education? I've started to take this policy thing seriously now after what has happened.
People say ignorance is bliss but not this one. If you like to live life like a hermit then go ahead. But if you are passionate about what you are doing and do not want your company to fire you for something that you are not aware of, request for a hard copy of your company policy and ask questions if you do not understand the clauses. Do make sure your company give you the complete copy ; not just a few pages that has something to do with your role. There may be more to that!
If you want to pick a bank for your savings or investments, RHB Bank should be the last choice in your list. I've been using RHB bank's service for more than 3 years already. The reason why I'm using it is because my previous company uses RHB payroll services. I'll tell you my "wonderful" experience with this "wonderful" bank.

Credit Card:
(+) Quite reliable. No issues with their credit card up until now except for few incidents where the vendor's machine was unable to read the card. Have to resort to using CitiBank credit card.
(+) I have to give credit to them since they approved my first credit card application during my first job.
(-) Requested for card upgrade twice but both rejected. CitiBank approved my card upgrade without much hassle. (I don't even have any savings account in CitiBank)
(-) Online transactions using credit card fails 70% of the time.
(-) Too much hassle using RHB credit card online ever since they implemented 2nd, 3rd, 4th.... tier security measures. Thats probably why online vendors have issues with RHB's card.
Online Banking Services:
(+) Very convenient where you can do almost 70% of the things you do in real life banks. From paying utility bills to settle 3rd party credit card debts.
(+) Able to check your transaction history for both savings and credit card with a few clicks of a button.
(-) Stupid website times out so fast before you can even finish typing or filling up the details. You will need to re-do everything from the beginning after the timeout.
(-) They introduced a security feature sometimes back that requires you to collect a DotCom card from the branch where you opened your account with special codes on it. Every time you need to add a new biller, you need to read the captcha images on the website and enter the codes from your DotCom card. 70% of the time the capthca image is missing a character so you can't proceed. What you need to do next is to keep refreshing the page and re-enter the particulars until the captcha image has the correct number of characters. I thought online banking is supposed to make your life easier. People just get 1 year older every time they use RHB's online banking.
(-) I remembered once when I added Delta Finance to my biller list so that I could pay my car loan online. Apparently a month later I received a letter stating that I have not paid my loan and a penalty has been imposed. I need to send RHB a message via the online system to check what is going on and only after that they refunded the money I banked in for the loan. In the end I still need to pay the penalty because of their mistake.
Promptness in response (online):
(+) Can't think of anything good to talk about them regarding this.
(-) I've had numerous issues with their turnaround time getting back to customers with their enquiries. A lot of times I have to write a follow up mail to them to get back to me with me question. Just recently, My account shows two large sums of debit (more than 4k) but I did not actually receive them. I've checked with my friend and she showed me the receipt of the transaction. However I do not see any changes in my account balance. I wrote a nice email to RHB for an investigation. I've not received any response for a week, that's when I wrote another follow up. Two more days have passed without any response, so I wrote another one. 2 weeks later I received the following generic template:
Why the heck do I need to call in when I can email? They should contact me instead regarding this! I wrote another complaint letter to them not long after that. Currently I'm still waiting for a response. If they fail to revert back to me within this week, I'll spread the word further.
At this point, I'm really disgusted with their working ethics. After my credit card expires, I will choose a different bank to manage my money. RHB, you suck!
